Byrne Playground

Scott Dupuis of Boston Parks and Recreation hosted the first of three meetings regarding the refurbishing of the Byrne Playground. About 15 people attended and the meeting went very well. The second meeting is expected to be scheduled for sometime around 4 to 6 weeks from now. When a specific date is known, it will be announced by email and posted here.

I heard they are planning to

I heard they are planning to take the last of the remaining basketball hoops down at the playground. Is that true?

That's right - the current

That's right - the current plan as I understand it is to remove the basketball court and replace it with street hockey. I'm hoping that we'll hear more details from the planning committee.

Is there any paticular

Is there any paticular reason why? I mean when I was a kid there were 5 hoops, then 4, then 2, and now the last remaining hoop is going?? I just don't understand. I think street hockey is a great idea but why not put it in the tennis court which is basically used for that already?

Come to the meeting

There should be a final meeting sometime in the next few weeks to show what the committee has come up with, and this would be a great chance to ask why these decisions were made. Mike Cote will send an announcement out to the Clam Point announcement list and hopefully post a note here to announce the meeting.

bball hoops

Just moved here a few months back and love the one hoop left - please don't take it down! Leave the court, and fix the other hoop!
